DEVSUIT IS DEVELOPING A FOOD DELIVERY PLATFORM FOR EAT-TAXI
September 1, 2026
EAT-TAXI has been live since September 1, 2026. Here's what's behind the ordering app: customer app, partner portal, driver app, administration, and receipt printing.
EAT-TAXI: Four Apps ‒ One Platform
Orders can be placed via EAT-TAXI as of September 1, 2026. What users see is an app. Behind the scenes are four applications that we built.
What is EAT-TAXI?
EAT-TAXI is a food delivery ordering platform with a regional focus: Orders are placed through the app, and deliveries are made by the restaurants themselves ‒ just as they did before. EAT-TAXI operates regionally and offers fair terms: The platform supports local restaurants and provides a comprehensive service.
For customers, little changes: one app, all common payment methods, and the same restaurants they’re used to.
The app is available for iOS and Android, and orders can also be placed via a browser. Ordering began on September 1, 2026.
What was needed to do that
An ordering platform isn’t just a single app. It’s a system where four groups work simultaneously: customers place orders, restaurants accept and prepare them, drivers make deliveries, and someone has to manage the whole process. Each of these groups needs its own interface with its own logic ‒ and all four must see the same status.
The devsuit team built these four applications, along with the integration of the receipt printers in the kitchens.
The Ordering App
The customer app is the visible part. The process seems simple, but it involves many individual decisions: - **Address first.** The delivery address—including verification of the house number—comes before the list of restaurants. If you enter an address that doesn’t exist, you’ll be notified immediately, not just during the ordering process. - You can switch **between delivery and pickup** at any point—the delivery area, prices, and times vary accordingly. - **Menu with options.** Portion sizes, sides, extras, plus a field for special requests per dish. The text appears unchanged on the receipt in the kitchen later. - **Advance ordering.** If you order now and want to eat at 10:30 p.m., you can select a time slot. Closed restaurants are still visible, with a note indicating their opening hours. - **Discounts and coupons**, including free gifts and welcome promotions. - **Order tracking** by stage—in preparation, in delivery, delivered—and a separate process for pickups. - **Ordering without an account.** If you’re not registered, you enter your information just once. The account is an option, not a hurdle. Then there are the unspectacular situations that reveal whether an app is well-designed: A dish is no longer available while you’re ordering. The selected address is outside the delivery area. The restaurant is closing in ten minutes. For each of these situations, there’s a screen that explains what’s going on and a way to proceed.
The Partner Portal
The app for restaurants serves as the workstation during business hours. Incoming orders are prominently displayed here and are also announced with an audible alert. When an order is accepted, the receipt with all order details is automatically printed via the printer included in the package for restaurant owners. The Partner Portal offers all the features a restaurant needs for day-to-day operations: editable delivery zones and hours of operation, the menu with upselling and menu options, discount promotions, staff management, and payout reports.
The Driver App
There’s a dedicated app for deliveries. It shows drivers their upcoming deliveries and updates the status back in the system. Drivers can easily access new orders by scanning the QR code on the printed receipt or via Order Management on their tablet. Smart features—such as the automatic clearing of the delivery list the next day or the map accessible with a single click—make the drivers’ work easier.
The Administration Interface
Behind it all is an administrative interface for platform operations: adding and activating restaurants, creating categories, managing discount and marketing campaigns, and more.
The receipt printer on the counter
The most unassuming part of the platform is the one found in every kitchen or on the counter. EAT-TAXI provides restaurants with a tablet and a receipt printer, and as soon as an order is accepted, the receipt is printed. That may sound like a minor detail, but it’s actually the interface between the software and kitchen operations. In a kitchen on a Friday night, it’s not always possible to look at a screen. A receipt is attached to the rail, and it provides all the important details of an order.
What EAT-TAXI Means to Us
The food delivery platform EAT-TAXI is a fantastic project, and we're proud to be a part of it. Every day at EAT-TAXI is exciting and presents challenges for our team, which we tackle with enthusiasm for the platform and the idea behind it.
